ON A CLEAR NIGHT !!!

As we started the car's engine for our little trip to the church for a night vigil, I and my cousins were filled with excitement. Personally, I had been wanting to attend one of these programs since I traveled to my aunt's place.

We set off, with my cousins chatting away and me on my phone trying to figure out why I couldn't download a YouTube video due to the bad network. Sigh...

Feeling the gentle breeze from the side window of my uncle driving, I looked up outside the car and was struck by the scenes passing by as our car moved forward.

I could see people walking, some rushing, while others were trying to catch a bus to get home quickly. It was already past 9:00, and I couldn't help but wonder that I would have been in bed by now, either watching a movie or scrolling through my phone. As we continued on, I noticed motorcycles speeding by, prompting my auntie to shout at the driver from her window. It made me realize how people are striving to reach their destinations and return home early to prepare for the next day, sometimes at the cost of risking their safety.

In that moment, I was hit with a mix of emotions and feelings that I couldn't quite put into words.

The things I witnessed that night showed me how much people are trying to survive.

I observed lights on in shops as they tried to pack up and return home. Meanwhile, some were still trying to make more sales. Children were running around, playing and chatting under the clear, dark sky. Food stalls were setting up their tents, and some individuals at the small beer parlour were gathered, enjoying music and conversations. Sick individuals were being hurried to the pharmacy, while others were simply taking leisurely strolls, chatting away over the phone. Everywhere I looked, I saw some individuals aiming to create happy moments for themselves while some are just trying to get through the day. It made me realize that life isn't fair for everyone.

Reflecting on these scenes heightened the empathy I felt. I found myself pondering on the struggles people endure and how they strive for a better life. It also reminded me of the importance of finding joy in the midst of hardships. Life isn't just about survival; it's about making memories and enjoying the moments, even during tough times.

This is what I call LIVING...
